Aprehend is different from a traditional contact spray. Instead of trying to directly spray every hidden bed bug, it creates a treated barrier where bed bugs are expected to travel. According to the EPA label, bed bugs are affected when they cross treated surfaces, and the product is intended to be applied as a continuous barrier in key travel areas. 

The active ingredient is a naturally occurring insect-pathogenic fungus. Bed bugs that contact the spores can become infected and typically die within several days, with residual activity lasting up to three months when the treated surface is not disturbed. 

Aprehend is not an instant knockdown product. Bed bugs must cross the treated barrier, pick up the spores, and return to hiding areas. That means activity may continue for a short period after treatment.

For best results:

• Do not wipe or clean treated areas 
• Continue sleeping in the normal sleeping area unless instructed otherwise 
• Reduce clutter where possible 
• Launder bedding and clothing as directed 
• Avoid using store-bought sprays after treatment 
• Follow all preparation instructions carefully
